Why I built it
I lost a Claude Code conversation I needed.
Claude Code saves every conversation, but resuming one means knowing its session id, and finding that means digging through project folders. So I built Creo, a menu-bar list of every session.
Codex support, usage limits and quick panels for ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity came next. It is native Swift, starts at login, and only reads the logs already on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded.
What it does
Find it, resume it,
know your limits.
Resume in one click
Click a session and your terminal opens in that project, back inside the conversation. Works for Claude Code and Codex.
No duplicates
If the session is already running, Creo brings its Terminal or iTerm2 window forward instead of starting a second copy.
Search and rename
Sessions are named after your first message. Search, filter, or give them your own names.
Usage limits
Five-hour and weekly limits for Claude Code and Codex, with reset times, so a limit never surprises you mid-task.
Limits
Not yet.
Jumping to an open window works in Terminal and iTerm2 only. Other terminals get a new window.
Perplexity is a panel only; it has no local sessions to resume.
Not notarised by Apple yet. The Homebrew install handles the security prompt for you.
FAQ
Lost a session? Hit a limit?
How do I recover a lost Claude Code session?
It is not deleted. Claude Code saves every session under ~/.claude/projects, so run claude --resume in the same project folder to pick it from a list. Creo lists sessions from every project at once and resumes the one you click.
Where are Claude Code sessions stored?
In ~/.claude/projects, one folder per project and one .jsonl file per conversation. Codex keeps its sessions in ~/.codex/sessions.
How do I resume a Codex CLI session?
Run codex resume for a picker, or codex resume --last for the most recent one. Creo shows your Codex and Claude Code sessions in the same list.
How do I check my Claude Code usage limit?
Run /usage inside Claude Code, or open Settings > Usage on claude.ai. Creo keeps your 5-hour and weekly limits, with their reset times, in the menu bar.
How do I see my Codex usage limit?
Run /status in the Codex CLI, or open Codex usage in your ChatGPT settings. Creo shows the same 5-hour and weekly windows next to your Claude usage.
Can I open ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity from the menu bar?
Yes. Creo opens each one as a panel from the same menu-bar notch, so you do not need a browser tab for each.
