Why I am building it
A layoff is a change in circumstance, not a measure of talent.
After a layoff, people end up on public lists and spreadsheets with no say in who sees their name, their contact details or their story. MassLaidOff flips that: the candidate decides what is visible and to whom.
Hiring teams get a directory of verified people they can filter by discipline, location, remote preference and experience, and shortlist with private notes.

What is MassLaidOff?
A private talent network for tech professionals affected by layoffs. You build a verified profile and verified hiring teams find you. It is not a job board.
Who can see my contact details and resume?
Only the people you allow. Choose visible to verified recruiters, available on request, or hidden. Approved requests last 30 days, and changing your visibility revokes them.
Will recruiters see my exit letter or salary slip?
No. They are stored privately and used only to verify your employment.
How are recruiters verified?
A recruiter must verify a company email before they can search the directory or open a profile.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Export your whole profile as JSON at any time. Deleting your account is scheduled with a 30-day grace period.
What are manager reviews?
Anonymous reviews of managers on leadership, communication, fairness and career growth, from people who verified a company email. They are kept separate from hiring profiles.
